Are you interested in book binding? Workshops can be tailored to any age group and time frame, adapted for schools, after school programs or senior centers. Workshops always include hands-on binding but can also include the history of book binding (and how it changed the world), cultural book forms, and book design with content. I have taught traditional Western bindings (pamphlet stitch, Coptic), Japanese stab bindings, accordion book forms and non-adhesive bindings. I would love to develop a workshop that fits a lesson plan or for students' specific interests. Please e-mail me to discuss planning a workshop in the New England area. Past workshops have included classes at the University of Southern Maine Summer Book Arts Program, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Maine Media Workshops + College, Spindleworks, Providence Country Day School's World Arts Day, and with Girl Scout troups.
